SOAR Aftercare and Enrichment

• $3,495 per student for the entire 2025-26 academic year
• Average price-per-day: $21.44
• Includes SOAR Extended Care on all regular and early dismissal academic days until 6 p.m.

• Students enrolled in this plan are eligible for tuition assistance, automatically applied to the monthly student bill.
• Annual tuition is divided equally over nine monthly payments (October-June) and charged to your student account each month.

Upon dismissal every school day, students in junior kindergarten through fourth grade who are enrolled in SOAR are taken to the Harrison Commons (in the Lower School) to check in. There, participants will have the opportunity to work on their homework and/or engage in games, arts and crafts activities, and recess. New in 2025-26, students will have the opportunity to join SOAR clubs and participate in monthly special events. Participants will receive a daily snack each day. Guardians can pick up their student(s) any time before 6 p.m. by checking them out via a designated SOAR staff member in the Fisher Dining Pavilion. 

Program Details

• The SOAR Extended Care program is available to all Fort Worth Country Day students in junior kindergarten through fourth grade from normal dismissal until 6 p.m.  
• The SOAR Extended Care contract covers the entire academic year.  
• All fees will be applied to student accounts. Bills are assessed on the first of each month, and payments are due on the 20th of the month.
• Enrollment rates are fixed and do not vary based on the number of hours a student is present for SOAR Extended Care.
• Single-day enrollment fees cannot be applied toward the purchase of a full-year enrollment plan. 
• There is no discount, refund or other allowance due to absence or illness.
• If a family is late on payments, the child(ren) will not be allowed to participate in the Extended Care program until the account is paid in full.  

• Students signed up for SOAR in advance will walk to the Lower School Commons at regular school dismissal time from their classrooms.
• Students in grades JK-4 who are not picked up in carpool by 3:30 p.m. (12:20 p.m. on half-days) will automatically be brought to SOAR Extended Care by school staff and charged at the single-day rate.

• Guardians must park at the FDP/Kindergarten lot and walk in to the Lower School sign out their children. SOAR personnel may require a photo ID for student dismissal. 
• Children will only be released to those listed on the authorized grown-up list for that student. 
• NEW: Once children are signed out of SOAR Extended Care, they may not rejoin SOAR activities for that same day. 
• NEW: Guardians should wait by the Harrison Commons door for their children to be brought to them. Parents/Guardians will not be allowed to sit in the Harrison Commons SOAR play space or engage in play with other SOAR participants. 
• Late pickup fees are applied at the rate of $2 per minute after 6 p.m. Guardians who are late picking up their children more than three times during one month may be terminated from the SOAR program. 

SOAR Extended Care and Enrichment Programs are led by FWCD staff, professional educators, and experienced childcare professionals who have completed thorough background checks and training procedures.

SOAR Extended Care programs are available on early dismissal days at FWCD, beginning at the conclusion of the abbreviated school day and ending at 6 p.m. SOAR Extended Care and Enrichment Programs are NOT available on FWCD holidays.

Please email all requests for care before 2 p.m. on the desired day of care. Additionally, please email your child’s teacher to ensure a smooth transition at the end of the day.

Students registered for SOAR Enrichment Programs do not need to also sign up for SOAR Extended Care. Students enrolled in SOAR Enrichment will meet in the FDP after school dismissal and be signed in to SOAR until the beginning of their enrichment class. While waiting, registrants will receive a snack, change clothes (as necessary for the enrichment), and be supervised by SOAR staff. Enrichment instructors will pick up their classes in the Harrison Commons, complete their classes at their specific class locations, and return students to the Harrison Commons at the conclusion of the course.

Please email [email protected] with your student’s FULL name, grade, and the day(s) you would like for your student to go home in regular carpool rather than SOAR. Additionally, please email your child’s teacher to ensure a smooth transition at the end of day. 

SOAR staff work closely with Nurse Lori McCormack, RN, Director of School Health Services,  to ensure that students with physician-documented medical conditions are kept safe while in SOAR care. While we cannot accommodate all dietary requests in terms of providing a daily snack, we will ensure no participants are exposed to dangerous food allergens for all physician-documented medical conditions.  

Unfortunately, there is no discount, refund, or other allowance due to absence or illness. Due to the fixed costs and planning involved in executing the SOAR Extended Care Program, we are unable to provide refunds for any annual or daily SOAR Extended Care purchases. 

We are unable to adjust or prorate the cost of any SOAR Extended Care programs.

Tuition assistance is available for qualified families enrolling in the full-year enrollment plan. Award amounts are determined by a family’s current tuition assistance award for FWCD tuition, up to a maximum of 75%. That resulting award will be automatically deducted from your bill. PLEASE NOTE: Tuition assistance is not available for SOAR single-day enrollments or SOAR Enrichment Programs.

SOAR full-year extended care enrollment tuition is automatically broken into nine monthly payment installments. Payment plans are not available for single-day/drop-in enrollments and SOAR Enrichment Programs.
