Are you planning to regain some closet space this spring? As you’re sifting through that clothing, please set aside any gently used, well-cared-for, school and church selections for middle and high school boys and girls to fill the Breakthrough Boutique! Sophomore Co-chairs Katie Bruce and Hannah Cheng are thrilled to again be working on this year’s Breakthrough Boutique clothing drive, which runs through Thursday, June 9.

New this year: Breakthrough students will have two opportunities to go through the boutique. “Our team is really happy to offer an additional session, so all students in grades 7-12 can come through,” the girls remarked.

Bruce and Cheng are looking for gently used donations of homecoming and prom dresses, any occasion dresses, suits, shirts, blouses, slacks for boys and girls, khakis for boys, sport coats, button-down shirts and polos, as well as shoes for both boys and girls. Accessories are always hot items, so the girls also are looking for jewelry, belts, purses, ties, shawls/wraps, or shrug/cardigan sweaters. The boutique also accepts everyday school wear for boys and girls—jeans; casual dresses; skirts and shirts; polos; casual T-shirts; tennis shoes; and winter clothing, including jackets, hoodies and coats. Breakthrough students will shop the boutique during the program’s Summer Session and use their selections for dressy and casual activities throughout the year.

"Breakthrough is an extension of our Fort Worth Country Day family, and we like that our Breakthrough friends get the opportunity through the boutique to pick out an outfit or two they love for special and new experiences through the year,” Bruce and Cheng added.
