The Plan for FWCD

The Plan for FWCD

In 2015, Eric V. Lombardi joined Fort Worth Country Day as its sixth Head of School.

In keeping with best practices, Mr. Lombardi and the Board of Trustees decided to undertake a comprehensive planning process for the School to review, assess and recommit to its founding principles and education philosophies.

Step 1: The Strategic Plan

Step 1 was the Strategic Plan, completed in 2018, which invited FWCD trustees, alumni, parents and faculty and City of Fort Worth community members to participate in developing a long-range view of future School priorities.

Step 2: The Campus Master Plan

The Campus Master Plan was Step 2. For this phase, after interviewing several leading architectural firms, FWCD engaged the services of Lake|Flato to lead the School in defining, examining and determining the physical spaces needed to achieve the strategic goals approved by the Board of Trustees.

Ultimately the selection of Lake|Flato was based on their understanding of the underlying philosophies that are the hallmark of a Fort Worth Country Day education and their appreciation of the unique land, layout and physical attributes that work hand-in-hand with the academics, arts and athletics at the heart of the School.

Fort Worth Country Day has an institutional commitment to the principles of diversity. In that spirit, the School does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, creed, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or national origin in admissions, the administration of its educational policies, financial aid, athletics, and other School-administered programs.
