It’s time for spring cleaning! As you’re sifting through your closet, please set aside any gently used, well-cared-for school and church clothing for Middle and Upper School boys and girls to fill the Breakthrough Boutique! This year’s co-chairs, freshmen Katie Bruce and Hannah Cheng, have started the Breakthrough Boutique clothing collection drive, and it runs through Friday, June 4. Breakthrough students will shop the boutique after the Breakthrough Program begins and use their selections for dressy activities throughout the year.

Bruce and Cheng are looking for gently used donations of dresses, suits, shirts, blouses, slacks for boys and girls, khakis for boys, sport coats, button-down shirts and polos, as well as boys’ and girls’ shoes. The girls are looking for more accessories this year, including jewelry, belts, purses, ties, shawls/wraps or shrug/cardigan sweaters. The boutique also accepts everyday school wear for boys and girls—jeans; casual dresses; skirts and shirts; polos; casual T-shirts; tennis shoes; and winter clothing, including jackets, hoodies and coats.

"As the kids in Breakthrough have new experiences, we like that they get the opportunity through the boutique to pick out an outfit that they love,” Bruce and Cheng said.

Collection bins will be located in the Upper School Circle (during morning and afternoon carpool), the Upper School Commons (for students), and the Amon G. Carter Foundation Commons in the Middle School (for students).
