New Lower School Nears Completion as Forward Together Campaign Pushes Toward Historic Goal
Fort Worth Country Day’s new Lower School building is nearing completion, with just 93 days left (as of October 11) until it opens its doors to students in January 2025. After years of following the virtual tour, the FWCD community is seeing the structure come to life. Walls are being painted, cabinets are being installed, and fixtures are being placed. Construction and design deadlines are fast approaching, as the School prepares to welcome its young Falcons into the freshly built space – on January 13, 2025.
“It's incredibly rewarding to witness the progress,” said Heather and Ryan Senter, Forward Together Public Phase Chairs. “We’ve all waited a long time to see this vision come to life, and we’re finally almost there.”
Opportunities remain for families to leave a lasting legacy within the new Lower School. Naming options are available for classrooms, offices, and grade wings, with signage currently in the design phase. This signage will be installed before grades 1-4 students start school in the new building. A modular donor wall will also be installed in the foyer near the fireplace, with recognition starting at $75,000. Donors wishing to be included in the initial signage must pledge or contribute their gift by Friday, October 18. View the remaining Lower School naming opportunities.
The Forward Together Campaign also seeks to bolster FWCD’s endowment by an additional $8 million. Endowment gifts can fund named scholarships or teaching chair positions, creating opportunities for donors to honor individuals in perpetuity. FWCD hopes to meet its overall campaign goal of $40 million by December 31, 2024. Commitments can be pledged now and fulfilled over the next five years.
“The generosity of over 250 families, faculty, staff, alumni, and foundations has brought us so close to completing the largest comprehensive campaign in FWCD’s history,” the Senters shared. “These gifts will have an incredible impact on future generations of Falcons.”
