Chad Peacock Named Director of Security and Safety

Chad Peacock has been appointed FWCD’s next Director of Security and Safety. A familiar and trusted presence on campus since 2000, Peacock currently serves as Security Supervisor and will officially step into his new role following the retirement of longtime Director Craig Slayton on June 27.
Peacock, who was Slayton’s first hire at the School nearly 25 years ago, has spent more than two decades leading with calm professionalism, quiet vigilance, and deep care for the FWCD community. As the only full-time armed Security Officer on campus (outside of the School’s valued partnership with the Fort Worth Police Department), he has managed countless emergencies, demonstrating strong leadership and decision-making skills, from medical incidents to large-scale school trips.
“Chad doesn’t just respond to situations, he anticipates needs before they arise,” said Chelsy Beninate, Associate Head of School for Operations and Security. “Whether learning the names of our youngest Falcons during carpool or maintaining a quiet, vigilant presence throughout the day, Chad brings intentionality, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility to everything he does. One of the great privileges of school leadership is recognizing and promoting talent from within, and Chad’s appointment is a testament to the strength of FWCD’s ability to cultivate leaders who understand and embody our community’s values.”
A graduate of the Tarrant County College 88th Basic Police Officer Academy, Peacock is a certified ALICE Active Shooter Instructor and a Level IV Personal Protection Officer. He has completed extensive training in emergency response, crisis management, CPR, AED use, first aid, Stop the Bleed, and EpiPen administration. Over the years, he has supervised security operations, led training initiatives, and managed large-scale school trips.
With his deep institutional knowledge, crisis management experience, and dedication to the FWCD community, Peacock steps into this new leadership role with expertise and empathy. In the coming months, he and Slayton will continue their close collaboration to ensure a smooth transition.
Please congratulate Chad Peacock on this well-deserved opportunity and thank him for his steadfast commitment to keeping the campus safe and secure for all.
