Alonzo Del Pozzo ’25, who is enrolled in Business French, is the first FWCD student to take the Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française B2 (DELF B2) and the Diplôme de français professionnel B1 (DFP B1) exams. He passed both exams and earned the Honors distinction on the DFP B1, the only one of the two exams that offers the higher designation.

Awarded by the French Ministry of Education, the Diplôme d''tudes en Langue Française B2 (DELF B2) is an official government document that certifies Del Pozzo’s French language proficiency for non-native speakers at a B2 level. He plans to utilize his DELF B2 certification during college while studying at a French university that requires a B2 level proficiency.

The Honors Diplôme de français professionnel B1 is the French diploma that certifies French language skills in professional communication and is delivered by the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The DFP will assist Del Pozzo as he pursues a degree in international business and allow him to demonstrate his advanced knowledge of the French language when applying for future internships or employment in France.

During the 2023-24 academic year, French Teachers Andréanne Annis (Upper School), Névine Watkins (Lower School) and Rob Napier (Middle School) completed the training necessary to become DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) examiners, which enabled Fort Worth Country Day to become an official exam center for the DELF exam. FWCD is the first JK-12 school in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to earn this distinction. Learn more at FWCD French Teachers Earn Prestigious DELF Examiner Status
