The Falcons completed their fall season, competing in the November 7-9 SPC Tournament. Three cross country runners earned medals in the 3A SPC Championship on Saturday, November 9, as well as All-SPC honors: Chloe Nelson ’27, Murphy Hoefer ’25 and Ty Williams ’27.

“The Falcons capped off an exciting fall season at the SPC Tournament,” said Athletic Director Leigh Block. “Boys cross country and the Falcon field hockey team both had a third-consecutive top 3 finish in the tournament; our football team had its best record in nearly 10 years; and boys volleyball had a 20-win season. We had a great fall!”

Cross Country

Boys cross country finished third overall, and the girls finished fifth. For the girls, Nelson earned third (20:23.0) in the girls field of 51 runners; Hoefer was ninth (21:06.5); and Emmy Strathmeyer ’27 placed 17th (22:00.4). All three finished in the top 20. For the boys, Williams was eighth (17:26.9), Chuy Orozco ’25 placed 14th (18:04.7), Ezra Alaniz ’28 was 16th (18:06.4), and Eduardo Rodriguez ’25 was 18th (18:14.3). All four placed in the top 20.

Field Hockey

The Falcons finished in third place, going 2-1 in the tournament. They beat The Awty International School (3-1) on Thursday, November 7, then lost to eventual runner-up Casady School (2-0) in the semifinals. The team finished the tournament with a 4-3 win over Holland Hall on November 9.  

Boys Volleyball

The boys team finished in fifth place. They beat The Kinkaid School 3-1, then came up short, 3-2, in a tough battle against eventual champion St. Mark’s School of Texas. FWCD then won 3-1 against St. Stephen’s Episcopal School on November 9.

Girls Volleyball

The Falcons drew No. 2 seed St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in the first round, falling in straight sets, then battled it out but came up short to The Awty International School.
