Geraldine Williams joined the Fort Worth Country Day community on April 11 as the Annual Giving Manager in the Advancement Office. She comes to FWCD with demonstrated success in nonprofit development with an emphasis on major gifts, donor relations, and special events. Most recently, Williams served as Philanthropy Manager for the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation, where she was responsible for developing and executing strategies to achieve fundraising goals in support of the medical center through the major gift program.

“I met Geraldine when she moved to Fort Worth and have followed her career. I am so excited for her to be part of the Fort Worth Country Day Advancement Team,” said Sandra Tuomey, Director of Advancement. “Geraldine brings so many strengths to her role here: fundraising experience, special event experience, constituent relations development, and a knowledge of the Fort Worth community. She is a fantastic addition not only to the Advancement Team but also to the FWCD community.”

A graduate of Boston College, Williams earned a BA in Communications with a concentration in Fine Arts. Throughout her nearly 30-year Advancement career, she has worked for The United Way of the Bay Area (Associate Vice President), Central City Hospitality House (Director of Development), and the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter (Director of Corporate Relations) in San Francisco. In May 2000, she moved to Stanford University as a Senior Special Event Manager, overseeing all aspects of the School of Engineering’s donor relations and alumni events.

A move to Fort Worth to be closer to family in 2007 brought Williams to the Texas Ballet Theatre as Special Event Manager, followed by joining the Fort Worth Zoo as Development Manager, where she organized fundraising events and managed the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors for the annual fund and corporate gifts, respectively. Williams spent eight years as Director of Community Programs at Cook Children’s Health Foundation, where she was responsible for the oversight, management, and implementation of the Seventh Avenue ambassador program, as well as a major gift portfolio.

Williams is the mother of Nina, a sophomore at UCLA, and Luke, a high school sophomore. When she is not watching Luke play football or baseball, Williams is cooking or “mudlarking,” which is looking for found objects, especially rocks, fossils, shells, and sea glass.

“I am just thrilled to be here. I love the culture and community at FWCD,” Williams shared. “It is such a magical place with many layers! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better.”
