Kindergarten cowboys and cowgirls showed their stuff in the 54th FWCD K-Rodeo on Wednesday, April 26, for the Class of 2023 and the Lower School students, followed by a parent viewing on Thursday, April 27. Many alumni parents were part of that audience, reminiscing about their performances! View the slideshow

This time-honored tradition allows FWCD’s kindergarteners, all 81 of them, to show their leadership skills as they dress up in western wear to perform a reenactment of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. Riding stick horses, bouncing on bulls and dressing up as creative clowns, the Class of 2035 took over the Sid W. Richardson Round Gym for their performances. The History of the Kindergarten Rodeo.

Beloved banjo player Dan Bloch H’06 returned for the 54th time, accompanying the Falcons as they sang “Deep in the Heart of Texas.” The rodeo was extra special for Bloch: His granddaughter, Cecilia Montgomery, performed. The show ended with line dancing to “Achy Breaky Heart.”
