FWCD’s Parent Faculty Association netted approximately $38,000 at its annual Pumpkin Patch Sale and Faux Pumpkin Auction on October 11 and 12. Central Market donated over 600 pumpkins to this year’s patch. The Pumpkin Patch has been a time-honored PFA and FWCD tradition for nearly 15 years and features hundreds of painted pumpkins for sale to the School community. Co-Chairs Amanda Kinson and Sadie Upham oversaw the volunteer artists and pumpkin painting. 

The Faux Pumpkin Auction featured 20 pumpkins, all FWCD art teachers, parents or grandparents. Artists for this year’s auction were Mimi Clemons (Colorful Mixed Media), Beth Smith (Faces of Kindergarten 2036), Leigh Bornitz '95 (Garden of Delight), Briley Byassee (Scary Night), Chelsy Beninate (The Witch’s Spell), Daniel Blagg (Patriot Pumpkin), Sara Parker (Chinoiserie), Mandy Lofquist (Boho Pumpkin), Sheree Kinnaird (Monster Party and Fall Harvest Trilogy), Pamela Lancaster (Spirit Pumpkin), John Holt Smith '87 (Stripe Pumpkin #3), Kat Kinhead (Jack’s Mansion of Mischief), Margery Gossett (Room on the Broom), Julia Gadberry (Falcon Spirit), Alyssa Surles (Texas Otomi), Sue Walker (Trilogy), Dorrine DeChant (Casi Simétrico), Sarah Gentry '85 (Butterflies) and Valorie Flaherty (From Ghouls to Gobbles).
