FWCD’s Parent Faculty Association awards Falcon Wings each month to recognize PFA volunteers, FWCD teachers or staff who soar above and beyond the call of duty to enhance the School’s programs and/or improve the greater FWCD community through their dedication and enthusiasm. The recipient of September’s Falcon Wings award is Shari Lincoln, Middle School Humanities Teacher.

Arriving at FWCD in 1994, Shari has served in many crucial roles on campus: Interim Head of Middle School, Assistant Head of Middle School, Head of Lower School and Middle School History and English Teacher. She’s worn oh, so many hats!

Shari is a huge advocate for her students, and her love for them shines through every day. She created her Snack and Study program years ago for new sixth graders, as well as returning students who needed additional support. It is an hour-long, after-school homework and organizational support program she hosts in her classroom to help our new Falcons as they adjust to challenging homework and study skill expectations at FWCD. Shari works with these children and helps each student feel successful.

In the words of Assistant Head of Middle School Hester Burdman, “Shari is an amazing educator and adored by all of her students. She cares for each student, even those she doesn't have in the classroom. I love to observe her classes because she keeps her students engaged and challenged. Shari is nurturing and is dedicated to providing her students with a quality educational experience.”

Thank you, Shari, for the mark you make on our Falcons! You truly are a Wonder Woman!

The Moncrief Library book dedicated in Shari’s honor is Barefoot Dreams of Petra Luna by Alda P. Dobbs.
