Mallory Sample joined the Fort Worth Country Day community on September 12 as the Special Events and PFA Coordinator. Sample comes to FWCD with years of experience in education and special events, having worked at multiple schools in Houston and 10 years as an assistant wedding and events coordinator.

“I am so excited to welcome Mallory to the FWCD community and the Advancement team,” said Director of Advancement Sandra Tuomey. “Her effortless professionalism, warm personality and experience, both in education and special events, are exactly what we were looking for.”

A graduate of Southwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Sample got her start in college working as an assistant weddings and events Coordinator at Wild Poppy Floral and Event Design where she worked with couples to help create and execute their wedding vision, coordinated with outside vendors to ensure the plan was executed and assisted with event setup and running the event timeline.

After graduating from the University of Houston with a Master of Education in Special Education, Sample served as a middle school special education and math teacher for five years with the YES Prep Public Schools in Houston. Following her time with YES, she had a brief stint in Austin working as an Assistant Principal of Instruction for IDEA Public Schools before returning to Houston and moving to the private school sector serving as Dean of Instruction where she coached and developed teachers.

"Since joining the Fort Worth Country Day community, I have felt nothing but genuine kindness, a spirit of generosity and truly feel welcomed,” Sample said. “I am so happy to be a part of a community that I already consider family. I cannot wait to meet more of the faculty and staff and plan some amazing events!"
