Congratulations to Fort Worth Country Day’s Department of Modern and Classical Languages students who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2020-21 National Language Examinations.

National French Contest

FWCD students earned seven gold10 silver and seven bronze medals. FWCD administers the National French Contest each year in grades 7 through 12, and this exam is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. French Language Teachers Andréanne AnnisBob Booth and Rob Napier are proud of their students’ achievements.

 

FWCD administers the FLES Exam in French in grades 5 and 6. These exams are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. FWCD students earned one gold and one bronze medal this year on the FLES exam. French language teacher Francés López is proud of her students’ achievements.

 

National Latin Exam

FWCD students earned seven summa cum laudesix maxima cum laude, six magna cum laude, and three cum laude medals. Latin Language Teachers Clint Hagen and Bryan Carlson are so proud of their students’ achievements. There were two perfect scores.

 

FWCD administers the Exploratory Latin Exam in grade 6 and the National Latin Contest in grades 7 through 12 each year. The American Classical League sponsors these exams.

 

National Spanish Exam

FWCD students earned 41 gold54 silver and 37 bronze medals. Spanish Language Teachers Debby ArnoldAudrey LakerAngeles CasanovaMolly Risewick, Bob Booth and Alison Robinson are proud of their students’ achievements.

 

FWCD administers the National Spanish Examination each year in grades 7 through 12, and the exams are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
