Department of Modern and Classical Languages Announces Award Winners

Upper School Achievement/Awards


Congratulations to Fort Worth Country Day’s Department of Modern and Classical Languages students who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2023-24 National Language Examinations.

National French Contest

FWCD students earned four gold, three silver and four bronze medals. FWCD administers the National French Contest each year in grades 7 through 12, and the American Association of Teachers of French sponsors this exam. French Language Teachers Andréanne Annis, Bob Booth and Rob Napier are proud of their students’ achievements.

National Latin Exam

FWCD students earned two summa cum laude, one maxima cum laude, one magna cum laude, and one cum laude medals. Latin Language Teachers Clint Hagen and Bryan Carlson are proud of their students’ achievements.

FWCD administers the Exploratory Latin Exam in grade 6 and the National Latin Contest in grades 7 through 12 each year. The American Classical League sponsors these exams.

National Spanish Exam

FWCD students earned 22 gold, 14 silver and seven bronze medals. Spanish Language Teachers Debby Arnold, Angeles Casanova, Molly Risewick, Bob Booth and Alison Robinson are proud of their students’ achievements.

FWCD administers the National Spanish Examination each year in grades 7 through 12, and the  American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese sponsors the exams.
